Samtíningur | Gathering is a collaborative project by Icelandic artists Antonía Bergþórsdóttir and Íris María Leifsdóttir, exploring the creative potential of Icelandic and Greenlandic earth materials. Blending natural substances such as glacial clay, they capture ephemeral moments shaped by the flow of time and nature. Through photography and short films, they document the transformation of their work and the influence of natural forces on the creative process. Traveling across Iceland, the artists collect local materials and respond to the landscape through painting, ceramics, sculpture, and lens-based media. Their site-specific approach embeds meaning into place, allowing nature to act as both material and collaborator.
